So this post is short--I'm working out in my garage wrapping up my smoking jacket project that I had to start over... What a mess that was... I honestly had to take apart the work that I had been doing, step backwards quite a ways, and start reassembling the jacket... I won't be doing that anymore... I've learned that men's suit jackets of almost any kind are really hard to follow a pattern to assemble.
I think I'm coming to the conclusion that I simply need to take the pattern pieces and redraw them so they don't have any seam allowance, using them for the steps and process that I know how to do instead. So that's what I'm going to do. And in the meantime, I've been finishing up the jacket as best I can. It's actually not bad, it's just not the kind of coat that I had imagined it would be--I'm going to make my next one much more like I'm used to.
So I've been in my studio, enjoying the gorgeous weather, listening to podcasts, and generally having an awesome time!
Tomorrow, I have jury duty, so we'll see if I end up on a trial or not--which could dictate what my days are like for a bit... Tuesday I have a fitting, Wednesday I have a trip to a Chihuly glass exhibit with a couple friends, Thursday I'm seeing the production of Sweeney Todd I helped with, and Friday I'm having lunch with yet another friend to contemplate my future.
Busy busy week. LOL! Until next time,
Live Life with Relish!
